The man I hold in high respect (in Singapore)

In daily rumblings on 28 September, 2008 by sin2dy

is none other than Jack Neo =)

Aside from providing entertainment through comedies, I think this man has found his footing in the movie-making industry. Watching a movie is like seeing this world through another person’s eyes. He presented his view which shows his depth-of-thought and highlights the critical social issues facing Spore in a joking manner. A movie which both educated and uneducated people can appreciate and take away valuable lessons. (I have absolutely NO intentions of scoffing at the uneducated.) To me, only an absolutely GREAT & SIMPLE movie can achieve this. In addition, I’m amazed how politically sensitive stuffs are touched and brought up repeatedly over his productions without any bans (yet). Hahaha. The rebel in me screamed “YAYYY!” for him.

Before people scoffed at the quality of local productions and jumped mindlessly right on the bandwagon for American or Japanese movies, take time off and enjoy Jack Neo’s movies. Not everything good has to come from overseas and we should start to value local talents (above foreign ones) before they decide to venture abroad. Needless to say, I <3 his sense of humor which I grow up with and is influenced by*! =)

Here’s a preview (:

*Refer to his influence: when I was pretty young, I saw a handbag by the stairs in my aunty’s house in Malaysia. I picked it up and imitated liang po po ’s “woo woo woo” while coming down the steps. SO stupid but funny la ;P
