Whoots! I just realized the snow falling on my blog actually changes direction! (try moving your cursor from left to right). Hahah, I was playing with it and the snow was zig-zagging across the screen. It looks as if the snow is dancing. (:

A random passing thought: If we ever drift apart, just stay where you are. I would look for you -again and again. I saw the pile of old letters which we exchanged on many occasions, I remember the telepathy we used to have, the laughter we used to share. Now, the silence was here between us for too long.

On feminism & nyonyas

I’ve been addicted to this show for quite some time. There is this mysterious allure of Nyonya tradition and beautiful customes which caught my attention for one full hour. But today, I was finally able to tear my eyes away from the tv screen.

I can’t stand weak women-  women that are like flower beds trampled and crushed by men. Instead of watching the sad scenes which just frustrates me further, I’m playing mahjong online now. WHEEE. Addicted to mahjong =P

One thing I’ve learnt from the show though is 不要服从命运 (don’t give in to your destiny). One -just ONE time- once you gave in, then there is no return. I realized a woman has to have the courage & stubbornness to face her destiny. Who says women can’t be stronger than men? Who says women can’t get whatever they want?

Go for it women!

*bleaahh. my cramps are acting up. I shall try not to let it interfere with my work although I feel pretty mindf**ked -.-

PS. No offence, but f**k is ,in sinyi’s terms, used to express her frustration and vulgar as it is, it is ONLY used with people she is comfortable with. So don’t tell me my blog is vulgar or I’ve changed. According to ANY dictionary, f**k means ‘to have sex with’. Apart from the public disgust of sex (for some reason *roll eyes*),  it is pretty much just another English word, like ‘fish’, ‘force’, ‘freak’…

Never closer to Nature

I’m SO busy! Bahh, now I know it’s REALLY weird to work for two conflicting events -pd & arts fest. They’re like mildly bitching behind each other’s back for the fight of marketing space & the smooth flow of events & the logistics required from the school & what-nots. Since I get to hear from both sides, I can only look interestingly at how they exchanged blows. Heheh.

Anwss! I have A LOT to update! Sheesh.

2 days before Christmas Day

I spent the day nauing at Ams’ place & tasted her homemade ice cream cake. My god, it is SO good that I feel tempted to get the recipe from her & make a huge one so that I can eat at home. HAHAH.

On Christmas Day

Christmas and boxing day this year brings me back close to my surroundings.

Christmas was spent with my family & some random others (dad’s friends & their families which I really don’t know.) Overall, it’s still mega fun!

My bro & I crossed over the barrier thingy & squatted next to the fishing pond and…started catching baby crabs! My god..these babies are fast. Any signal of threat or danger, they will scamper into those holes with rough surfaces & our net would then be unable to sweep them up. Thus, you can imagine my excitement when I managed to catch one! I was squeaking in joy while using my slippers to stop the crab from going back to the waters but my bro frantically searched for a plastic cup to hold it. IT’S FUN! =)

At the end of the day, we managed to grab 1 goldfish & 2 crabs! *a round of applause please!* Hahaha, but we did drop them back where they belonged because we have a good heart & it’s christmas & mum was scolding. ( Obviously the last reason overpowered the rest. Hahah)

Despite being busy with catching crabs & fishing prawns, you know I cannot resist the bbq pit! Muahaha. The display of seafood is enough to make me salivate and drown the rest of the people so that I can eat ALL the seafood by myself. *greedy smile*

Every piece of prawn I unshelled, I have this BIG UNGLAM SILLY grin plastered on my face. It’s like my beloved Christmas gift man -fresh juicy big prawns bbq to bring out its finest taste! Hey! Every man has his soft spots. Mine is fortunately just PRAWNS =D

We dropped by my aunt’s place in the evening & I got the shock of my life when I entered their master bedroom. A careless glance over their wedding photo & I DISCOVERED SOMETHING! Hahahah. My uncle (when he was younger) looks like… JAY CHOU. He looks like Jay chou when Jay chou just started his singing career. The natural curly hair and the shy smile!!! Ironically, my cousin (his daughter) idolizes Jay Chou. Hahah, Ting, just look at your dad man! I can see how Jay Chou will look as he grows older now… =P

On Boxing Day

After the GIGA-tonnes of calories and cholesterol I forced into my bloating body, I suspect my arteries will be clogged soon if I do not take any action.

Hence, we (da cousins) decided to go trekking at Bukit Timah hill the very next day! Whoots, love their ’super on-ness’ =)

Man, we took the longest AND most challenging AND most ulu route. It was quite tough for me but I was determined to complete it albeit being the OLDEST lao kok kok one lagging behind.

My brother named this “Stairway to heaven“. BUT BUT. He never warned us we have to go through the slope of hell, the trek of pain, the misery of hunger & exhaustion before we even reached the foot of this stairway. *sobs hysterically*

& at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, what is the first thing which you can NEVER missed? MONKEYS. They’re by the road, in people’s houses, sitting on railings & going around like they owned the place. Pffft. I was determined to challege them! Here goes our monkey faces!

At the end of the day…..

We’re goddamn tired!!! Have lunch at 4pm. Bless our souls & stomachs. Then again, the longjourney in a natural environment I’ve endured with my close ones will always bring back a smile at the thought of it (:

On the day after Boxing Day

I dragged myself out for a quick jog before going for Patron’s Day gathering. OMG, I love mahjong. Hahaha, I’ve had my virgin experience of playing mahjong & learnt it from very nice people. (Now that I realize, there are FIVE ladies with bangs in the org comm now as compared to ONE in the past. Wahaha.)

For sharp observers, our theme for the party was Black & Gold. Everyone hid their ‘gold thingy’ somewhere.. hahah.

Last of all, my cass & sandy are back from their Changmai OCIP! hahah, it sounds incredibly fun & warm heartening! But anyways, it’s great having them back =D =D

PS. Being a Jim Carrey fan, I cannot resist watching “Yes Man”. The movie might be right.. every occasion/invitation/event is an opportunity, why not..say “YES“? =)

转角遇到爱

我突然发现我已经好久没用华语了- 差不多快一年多了。 除了偶尔几里咕噜与妈咪通话外, 我都好少用这个以往是我最强的语文! 语言嘛.. 就是要经常使用才能变得更强。

前阵子我都在追看转角遇到爱， 而有挺多身旁的人都因此感到惊讶。因为

1。我只喜欢看韩剧 或 亲友介绍的港剧。

2。我不看无聊的偶像剧 -尤其是台湾的。原因是没内容, 而且总是描述一些在现实生活中难以发生的剧情, 如台湾富豪宁愿与贫穷的美女 (真奇怪, 这么穷还能保养的美的能和千金小姐斗哦!) 在一起 或有钱却叛逆的少年流落街头然后爱上一个很普通的女孩, 或者最常用的是一个人活到二十多岁了，才惊然发现自己的亲生父亲很有钱 也很有可能是爱人的爸爸。

简单的说，这些戏一直播放着 无聊的爱情。同样的台词，我都听了上万倍了。

这部戏之所以会吸引我必然有它的特色。虽然主题还是爱情，但是剧本比较新鲜 (是穷男生喜欢上千金小姐) 而且人物生动。最最最重要的是 – 它超搞笑 :)

每一集的收尾都有戏里一个叫 “九把刀” 的名言。我听了觉得蛮有意思，把他们抄写来在以下更你们分享！

2008 Christmas Eve

My house is freezing cold!The almost incessant rain outside really makes me feel dreaded to crawl out of bed or step out of house. But! My little brother is nagging at me to get all the Christmas yummies with him. Tsktsk, it’s either I’m super mega lazy (hey! I can’t be lazy for long *grumbles*) or he is super irritating.

I’m in a pretty fine mood today (:

I’m getting SO scatter-brained! Packing my stuffs & leaving them in the house when I’m SUPPOSED to bring them out. Sinyi is getting stupider! *bangs head against wall repeatedly* If bimbotism continues to thrive within me, I’d really stab or strangle myself alive. I need to like stamp it out completely or I’d just get madder at myself -.-

On a random note, I realized my brain works better when I’m excited about doing something. It’s like a domino effect! When one light bulbs lighted up, the rest just light up one by one and then I turn into a BRILLIANT shining alien! =D

On another random note, I love it when the passion kicks in. It makes me do things which I do not expect myself to do.

Ending on a positive note, I just wanna say ‘get your ass out & do whatever you wanna do!’ Who knows, you might really surprise yourself what you can do!! ;)

Sniffs

Omg, emo songs are nice. Listen to the lyrics! I was crying like nobody’s business when this song blares out in the middle of a very sad show. I’m officially attracted to Rascal Flatts’ songs. He has a rich voice -those which can melt hearts with a  serenade and guitar accompaniment.

Christmas is round the corner. YES! Roast turkey, apple crumble, christmas chocolate cake, booze are coming my way. Hehehe. Dad says this year’s plan will include BBQ-ing Tiger Prawns!!!! *grins happily*

Fortunately (or not), I’m gaining weight and I honestly can’t be bothered anymore. Hahah. No ‘I’m on diet’, no 100 sit-ups, no sucking my breath in and constantly worrying for my waistline. I’m getting comfortable growing some extra (flabby) pieces of meat here & there man. I can proudly proclaim myself  one who live for the moment man ;P (who wants to live forever? It’s boring! hahaha)

Omgawd. We were so young & cute & hyper then. We (or rather I) feel so old now. *joints creaking & skin sagging*

Save those drugs, Twisters got us HIGH. We were sweating and puffing heavily by the end of it. Looking at the picture gives me a sudden urge to have a silly crazy game again.

Hit back to Changi beach yesterday to relish our old fond memories. Those freaking hot days and determined souls. Love love!

Jojo said I’ve toned down a lot ever since I entered smu. Hahah, another sign of ageing. I feel like going skydiving or have a roller coaster ride or climb a mountain (it’s a turn-off when your country only has bukit timah -.-)

I should stop looking back. It feels tiring & old. Start looking forward -I have 8 more decades to live! *stunned* Hehe
